About the Journal

The Department of Polish Studies of the Institute of Philology of the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University, in cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 1999 has published a collection of scientific papers “Polish Studies of Kyiv”.

The collection highlights current problems of modern Polonistic literature and linguistics in a wide Slavic context with primary attention to Polish-Ukrainian literary contacts, borderline phenomena in language, literature and culture, problems of ethnolinguistics, cultural linguistics, grammar and lexicology of Polish and other Slavic languages, methodical issues of modern Ukrainian Polonistics.

“Polish Studies of Kyiv” Volume XLІ brings together research by Ukrainian and Polish scholars in literature and linguistics, addressing a wide range of issues from the reception of classics and intercultural contacts to the analysis of linguistic phenomena and stereotypes. A separate section is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Antoni Malczewski’s poem Maria.

The volume is intended for professors, doctoral candidates, postgraduate and undergraduate students, as well as all those interested in the history and present state of Ukrainian-Polish literary relations.
